Good Afternoon.

Some joyous news to share - last week, two Budlong faculty members welcomed new babies into the world:

* Ms. Leonor Cuevas (Case Manager) - Maya was born on Wednesday
* Mr. Chris Gordillo (KW Teacher) - Olivia was born on Friday
Both mothers and baby girls are doing well.  Congratulations to the families!

K-8 Reopening Plans
We are looking at a variety of models to meet the needs of both in-person instruction and remote learning, based on the variables present in each grade level.  We expect to get confirmation on staffing requests this week and then can finalize schedules and rosters.
* Begins 2/1/21
* 158 k-8 students, of 576, are scheduled to return to in-person instruction
* In-person instruction is two days a week
* In -person groups are called pods and will be no larger than 15 students
* All K-8th grade students will learn remotely on Wednesdays, beginning 2/3/21.

Virtual Town Hall Meetings
Please plan to join me for a virtual town hall meeting to discuss health and safety measures, and protocols for k - 8th in-person learning.   Grade level teams will also host virtual town halls for their families and share specifics including schedules and any changes that may take place as of 2/1/21.  Town halls will take place the week of 1/25.  Google Meets links will be sent closer to the dates.
