[April 4th] Good Saturday Afternoon. Just a few updates today: I will be emailing the official school-wide Budlong Remote Learning Plan on Monday to all families. It will also be posted on our website then, too. Teachers may send grade level plans before then though. Supporting our students and families is a critical aspect of learning during the school closure, so the plan will list the various ways (academic, social and emotional, and technical) help will be made available to families and students. Budlong is no longer a food distribution site. As a start to the break, we find another opportunity to spread smiles and love - another video to share with our community. A special thanks to Ms. Blum for creating the video, Ms. Cuevas for organizing the project, and to all staff for being so #budlongbeautiful. Please enjoy! [April 1st]
Good Afternoon. Please see the email below*. CPS is consolidating food distribution sites, and after this week, we will no longer be distributing food. Please see the link within the letter to find the school closest to you that will be open during the break and then starting April 13th. Additionally, Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Friday announced a plan to give some struggling residents rent relief. The COVID-19 Housing Assistance Grant Program will use $2 million from the city’s Affordable Housing Opportunity Fund to give 2,000 Chicagoans $1,000 toward rent or mortgage payments. Please click here for the following link to apply. Applicants must show lost household income and be at or below 60 percent of the area median income, which is about $53,000 for a family of four. Here is a link for economic assistance from the city. The deadline is today. Thank you. *Click here or scroll down to "4/1 CPS Update: On Meal Distribution Plan for Spring Break and Beyond" for referenced email.
