Principal's Letter- March 9, 2018

Happy Friday Afternoon!

March is such a busy month, especially for our youngest and oldest students:

• High School acceptance notifications for current eighth graders will be sent out March 30th and all decisions are due by April 13th.
• CPS pre-school applications will be opening soon. For details, please visit chicagoearlylearning.org
• Kindergarten enrollment has now begun.  Come to the main office Monday-Friday, between 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to enroll. You can also visit our website, budlong.cps.edu for more information.

Good news on the budget front. This year, CPS has communicated to schools that the process will start earlier, and just this week, principals were informed that budgets will be based on last year's allocations. This is great news as it gives our schools increased stability and consistency.

And finally, Attendance Battles have begun.  Strong attendance and strong performance go hand in hand.  We will be collecting raffle tickets daily for students who are here everyday and on time. Our Attendance Battle Pep Rally (students only) will be on Friday, March 23rd to kick-off Spring Break.  Make sure to send those kiddos everyday, so they qualify to be entered into the raffle to win some great prizes.
