Budlong has just been notified that we are eligible to receive a grant from the Illinois State Board of Education for the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program for school year 2019-2020.
The purpose of this grant is to increase fresh fruit and vegetable consumption in elementary schools participating in NSLP. Fresh Fruit and Vegetable funds are used to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to children at no cost, during the school day outside of the reimbursable meal(s) periods.
We are excited to participate in this program in conjunction with our Healthy Schools mindset.
