With Thanksgiving just days away, calendars get filled so quickly this time of year, and it’s no different at Budlong. There are quite a few things happening here this month, and so I want to say thank you to all our families for their continued support of our students and school community. I appreciate all the efforts of our Budlong Families!
Our Friends of Budlong is gearing up for the Mother-Son Dance on 11/30, and you don’t want to miss it. Tickets are on sale now in our main office. Here is the link to volunteer at the event:
FOB is also planning our first gala, an adult only night out, on January 26 at Empirical Brewery. Save the Date reminders will be sent in backpack mail in the coming weeks.
And congratulations to the three teacher teams for being selected as recipients of the first ever FOB Teacher Grants.
Thank you to our very generous FOB for granting the funds to make these special projects a reality in Budlong classrooms.
Thank you for attending Report Card Pick-up, and we look forward to increased communication with our families throughout the year now that all our classrooms are using Class Dojo and/or Remind. If you have not already done so, please share your email address with your student's teacher as soon as possible.
Dress to impress for assemblies this week! On Monday, we are celebrating students with perfect attendance for first quarter. This assembly will be for students only. On Tuesday, we will be honoring students who exemplify the Budlong Habits of Heart, Mind, and Work. In addition, students will also be recognized for creativity and "most improved." Teacher teams selected students from each classroom and parents of the recipients were/will be notified by their student's teacher so they can attend on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s assembly represents a shift for us here at Budlong. In the past we have done an honor roll assembly, but this year, our focus will be on those traits that really serve as the foundation for becoming a strong student. The Habits help us articulate those characteristics we believe successful students embody.
And finally, the Book Fair has been extended through Monday, 11/19. Students will be able to make purchases throughout the day in the library.
Students have no school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Classes will resume on Monday, November 25.
Have a relaxing, safe, and joy-filled holiday. Happy Thanksgiving
